Tucked away in the misty highlands of Sagpat, Kibungan, Benguet, something truly special is brewing — and no, we’re not just talking about the coffee (though that’s a big part of it). We’re talking about a story of passion, perseverance, and purpose — one that begins with local farmers, winding roads, and a whole lot of heart.
🌄 Where the Beans Begin: Sagpat, Kibungan
Sagpat is a secluded barangay in Kibungan, sitting at high altitude with panoramic views of rugged cliffs, rice terraces, and deep valleys. It’s the kind of place where the fog rolls in like a whisper and the air smells of pine and soil. But beyond the scenery, Sagpat holds a legacy of quiet resilience — and now, premium Arabica coffee.

Back in the day, coffee farming here was simple and raw. Elders planted and harvested with care, but without formal training. The coffee? Aromatic, yes — but inconsistent in quality and harvest.
🌱 The Turning Point: Knowledge Meets Tradition
Enter the Local Farmers Cooperative, led by Sir Donald Ticuala, a passionate coffee specialist who saw Sagpat’s potential. Instead of changing the way the elders worked, he built on it — bringing in training, refining post-harvest methods, and teaching farmers how to achieve consistent quality with every crop.

Today, thanks to years of grassroots effort, Sagpat is now producing high-quality Arabica beans, recognized for their light fruity flavor and floral aroma — a flavor you can taste in every cup of our Rocky Roast.
🛻 The Journey Isn’t Easy — And That’s What Makes It Worth It
Getting the beans from Sagpat to our processing center in Longlong, La Trinidad isn’t exactly a walk in the park. The road from Baguio City to Sagpat is long, winding, and often challenging — especially during the rainy season.

But here’s the thing: what comes out of those roads is worth every bump.
Once the green coffee beans (GCB) arrive in Longlong, they’re carefully processed by the same Local Farmers Cooperative. Each batch is tested and profiled, ensuring that the roast level is tailored to highlight the bean’s unique origin flavor — typically aiming for a light to medium roast to let the fruity notes and floral tones shine through.
🏞️ Why It Matters
Every cup of coffee you sip from Sagpat isn’t just coffee — it’s a story of remote mountains, empowered farmers, and slow, meaningful progress. It’s the result of years of hard work, training, and a community that believes in doing things right, not fast.
So when you drink this coffee, know that you’re supporting more than just a brew. You’re supporting:
- 💪 Local farmers who are growing with knowledge
- 🚜 A cooperative built on community and care
- ☁️ A flavor shaped by altitude, tradition, and love
Try it yourself.
One sip of Sagpat’s Arabica and you’ll taste the mountains, the effort, and the journey — all in one warm, comforting cup.
